Due to a lease expiration, a competitive real estate market, and
a desire to reinforce the organization's culture, USG
Corporation decided to relocate to a new headquarters at 550 West
Adams. This decision was preceded by the development of a program,
including new workplace guidelines for all workstations and private
offices. USG concluded upon two sizes of both workstations and private
offices for the entire organization.
The 330,000 square foot
headquarters occupies twelve floors and accommodates
800 employees. The typical office floors also include conference rooms,
an employee coffee bar, file and storage rooms and print/copy stations.
The
conference center on the top floor acts as the main
reception and conference center for the headquarters. Also on this
floor is the executive area which includes offices, conference rooms,
dining and kitchen. Additional shared spaces in the facility include
a large employee café/presentation space, records center, mail/reproduction
center and data center. |
