Priority Sports is a full service sports management firm whose client base includes the nation’s top professional basketball and football players. In 2005, they approached The Environments Group to create a new office space to house their growing staff. They wanted a space that would be open and light, maximize communication yet provide some heads down privacy, and accommodate their growing sports memorabilia collection.
Their new workspace highlights views of the Chicago River from their 6th floor office in the historic Reid Murdoch building. Exposed concrete slab and columns maximize the ceiling height, the light and views from this 1914 warehouse building. Stainless steel details and exposed ductwork add to the urban, industrial feel of the space.
Ticker tape in the reception area reflects the timely, ever-changing nature of the sports industry. Clean, timeless furnishings and cool color paint and carpet palette compliment warm natural materials. A long, natural oak bench recalls seating on the sidelines or in the locker room.
The open office area is bathed in natural light and provides flexibility for varied work styles. It features custom storage units for paperwork and to keep personal belongings tidy. Ample space was allotted throughout the space to display one of a kind sports memorabilia in both shared and private workspaces. |
