Completion: June, 2006
We were hired by Tayco to design their new showroom on the 10th floor
of the Merchandise Mart. Tayco, a Toronto based company,
specializes in laminate casegoods, systems furniture,
seating and conference tables. While they have a large
presence throughout Canada, their presence wasn't as well known in
the U.S. As part of their vision for the future, they wanted to start
gaining the attention of design firms and expanding their brand to
their existing client base. They began a large endeavor to elevate
their product design, update their image/brand through graphics and
literature and market to new customers.
Their newly updated brand/company image and new product designs were
to be unveiled at Neocon. The new showroom was an ideal
setting to showcase this new direction. We were asked
to develop a space that best showcased their new image
and product but to do this on a limited budget. To
achieve this goal, we took advantage of existing features such as
the neutral carpet, core plumbing, veneer millwork and track lighting.
Through
careful choice of materials and selective demolition
and new construction, we were able to create a fresh new face for
Tayco on their budget. The client had a 50% increase of visitors to
their showroom. |
