The PrivateBank and Trust Company wanted to launch a new office in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. They chose the historic Palmolive Building, which was being converted from offices to high-end residential and retail use.
The PrivateBank sought to create an intimate environment to underscore the confidential nature of their business: relationship banking. Rich materials, furniture and detailing echo the Art Deco exterior of the Palmolive Building. The space has a refined, residential feeling, which reinforces the Bank’s image as premium provider of distinctive, highly personalized, premium financial services.
The unique space contains a marble floored banking hall with sit-down teller stations. The banking hall leads to the private banking floor with offices, conference and lounge facilities. The unique client lounge space is used for informal meetings and also serves as a quiet retreat for clients when visiting busy Michigan Avenue.
The Environments Group also provides design and consulting services to The Private Bank and Trust Company at their headquarters and other locations.
